Fabryka Maszyn Górniczych PIOMA SA [PIOMA SA Mining Machine Factory] is one of the largest European producers of mining machines, including belt conveyors, suspended monorails floor railways, as well as devices and constructions used among others in open- pit mining and maritime industries, output of mineral resources, crude oil and natural gas. The factory started its operations in 1956 as a technical back-end of the hard coal mining sector and the emerging lignite open-pit mines.
